Nick’s writing career is deeply diverse. He won a Best Children’s Drama BAFTA for writing and creating The Giblet Boys (CITV). His hit comedy creation Manchild (BBC2) was exported to Los Angeles, where Sex In The City producer Darren Starr made a pilot for Showtime. The same series was exported to Moscow, where Nick’s original scripts were translated into a popular Russian TV series.
During his varied TV writing career, Nick has written episodes of hit TV shows New Tricks and Hustle, Diamond Geezer (starring Sir David Jason), Crusoe (NBC – USA), Moving Story (ITV) starring Warren Clarke.
Nick currently works as a core-writer on BBC’s top-rating prime-time medical drama Holby City.
Early movie screenwriting success came from penning hit-teen comedy Virtual Sexuality for Tri-Star Columbia, starring Rupert Penry-Jones.
His other works include the novel, Pot Luck (2016) currently in development for TV with Kindle Entertainment, stage play Basket Case (2012) which toured 12 city theatres including Richmond, Cardiff and Bath. Eight non fiction titles including multi-award winning cook book The River Cottage Book of Fish, a how-to sea fishing book and a self-help book about adolescent boys' problems, which has since been translated into 15 languages. He has written hundreds of features for magazine and newspapers as diverse as The Times and The Field, to Just Seventeen, The Observer, The Sun and The Ecologist.
